Of all places, this actually came to me in the shower. For some reason, I just can't write at my desk or with a pen in my hand. Words flow so much better when I haven't a writing instrument within reach. Or maybe it was just thoughts of the individual that provoked it in me. Either way, my ultimate flaw laid out:

Blinded by fate
Consumed by a fear
Convinced of harsh truths
No one should hear

Suspicious of all
Trusting of one
Whose love of her wary
Would ne'er come undone

None tread alone here
But certain was she
Happiness is bought
Love least given free

When his expression of feeling
She thought contrived
She dismissed without reason
What keeps us alive

Take the misgivings
With a grain of salt
Should the best things in life
Quicken to a halt
